Wales is a small, but beautiful country just 160 miles from north to south and 120 miles
across at most, and a population of less than 3,000,000. Much of the country's most beautiful countryside falls within three national parks.
In the southwest is the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, With its 186 mile coastal cliff top path from St Dogmaels in the north to Amroth in the south, and providing glorious walking with wild flowers, sea birds, sandy beaches and stretches of rugged coastline.
The Beacons National Park stretches 40 miles west from the Welsh border with England to the borders of Carmarthenshire. The landscape consists of a series of impressive peaks in the centre of the park (rising to a maximum height of 886m in Pen-Y-Fan), a wide expanse of moor land, deep cwms eroded by fast flowing mountain streams, broad valleys, ancient woodlands and sparkling rivers.
In the north, the Snowdonia National Park is possibly the best known of Wales' national parks. Boasting the highest mountain in Wales and England and the second highest in Britain if offers spectacular walking and climbing and breath taking vistas.
Add to this the Castles, Forests, Lakes and the best Rugby Stadium in the World (situated in the capital Cardiff), Wales is indeed a 'Beautiful Country'.
